Andrey Sokolov: “I met Timoshchuk and Fayzulin in my time. Now I hope to chat with the current Zenit players”

The Zenit driver spoke about his passion for football, the upcoming races and the iconic cars of the past

St. Petersburg driver Andrey Sokolov spoke about his love for football, the upcoming races in the Russian Championship of the RDRC and the cult cars of the past in an interview with the press service of the racing series.

Andrey Sokolov admitted that he loves football, even more than racing. But at the Ravenol RDRC Russian Championship, he still has to chase rivals, not a ball.

“In my time, I met Timoshchuk and Fayzulin. Now I hope to communicate with the current Zenit players,” Sokolov said.

In the first races of the season, he managed to win a place on the podium. Andrey said that the competition is growing, but he does not plan to give up.

“The races are great, interesting fights and high-level rivals. The tracks are very varied, which is also very cool. I really like the results, I plan to continue to delight everyone,” the Zenit driver said.

Sokolov also spoke about the iconic cars of the past, which he saw in a museum in Minsk.

“The museum is very soulful, a huge number of legendary cars. I saw many cars there that I had previously seen only in the pictures, and I was delighted. A special impression was made by the Chaika, Pobeda, Muscovite-408 and Muscovite-412 - these are the cars of my childhood,” admitted Andrey.
