Antonieli to replace Hamilton in FP1
Mercedes reserve driver Nyck de Vries was originally scheduled to stand in, but the team has instead confirmed that the Italian will become the first teenager to drive the 2023 Mercedes.
Hamilton was ruled out of this morning's session at the Yas Marina circuit after he was deemed as an unsafe driver after colliding with Haas' Kevin Magnussen.
The seven-time world champion will remain in the paddock so he can attend the FIA stewards' hearing.
Antonieli, 19, finished ninth in last year's Formula 2 championship and is set to make his Formula 1 practice debut. He has driven the Mercedes' 2022 car in two previous tests.
The Italian told Sky Sports: "I'm very excited to be driving the W14 for the first time. It will be a special moment for me and I'm grateful to the team for giving me this opportunity.
"I've been working hard in the simulator and I'm feeling prepared for the challenge. I'll be doing my best to get the most out of the session and help the team."
