Unai Emery's first match in charge of Aston Villa ended in a draw against Manchester United on Sunday, extending Arsenal's unbeaten run to five games and preserving their lead atop the Premier League standings. Leon Bailey gave Villa the lead in the seventh minute with a stunning strike from the edge of the box, but Anthony Martial equalized for the visitors just six minutes later. Marcus Rashford put United ahead in the 65th minute but Jacob Ramsey saved Villa with a late equalizer in the 77th minute.

It was also the first time Aston Villa had avoided defeat in their opening match of a league campaign since 2015.
