Former co-owner of Probзнесbank Aleksandr Zheleznyak (who was the subject of an investigation by Maksim Katz) has announced his departure from the international FBK.
Zheleznyak was one of the main owners of Probзнесbank, which was declared bankrupt in 2015. The bank's collapse was one of the largest in Russian history, and Zheleznyak was accused of embezzlement and money laundering.
In 2016, Zheleznyak fled Russia and was granted asylum in the UK. He has since become a vocal critic of the Russian government and has worked with the anti-corruption foundation FBK, founded by Alexei Navalny.
Zheleznyak did not state any reasons for his decision to leave the FBK.
