Today, the Governor of Vologda Oblast, Oleg Kuvshinnikov, congratulated the region's residents on the Day of Russia. In his address, he noted many of the region's cities' infrastructure developments, as well as increased trade and economic indicators.

Economic Achievements

In his address, Kuvshinnikov highlighted the oblast's economic strengths, including the growth of industrial production, agricultural output, and foreign trade. The growth in production was more than 10% in some industries, Kuvshinnikov noted, particularly in mechanical engineering, timber processing, and the chemical industry.

Kuvshinnikov also cited the rise in agricultural production, which increased by almost 4% in the first quarter of 2022. The region's farmers produced a record high of more than 120,000 tons of milk and 60,000 tons of meat.

Exports from the Vologda Oblast are on the rise, with a 19% increase in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the same period last year. The region's exports are primarily in the timber, chemical, and mechanical engineering sectors.
