Grigorieva and Artyushchenko Win Ice Dance Gold at Grand Prix Stage in Magnitogorsk
Russian duo continues their winning streak this season
Ice dancers Elizaveta Grigorieva and Nikita Artyushchenko of Russia clinched the gold medal at the Grand Prix stage in Magnitogorsk, Russia, on Sunday.
They delivered a strong performance in both the rhythm dance and free dance segments, earning a total score of 207.14 points. Their victory extends their winning streak this season, following their triumph at the Finlandia Trophy in October.
In the rhythm dance, Grigorieva and Artyushchenko showcased their elegant footwork and intricate lifts, securing a score of 85.60 points. They maintained their momentum in the free dance, captivating the audience with their expressive interpretation of the music and seamless transitions, earning 121.54 points.
Finishing in second place were Canadian ice dancers Marjorie Lajoie and Zachary Lagha, with a total score of 181.94 points. They delivered a graceful and energetic performance, highlighted by their strong lifts and twizzles.
The bronze medal went to another Russian duo, Anastasia Skoptsova and Kirill Aleshin, who earned a total of 177.58 points. They displayed their technical prowess and artistic flair, earning praise for their intricate footwork and synchronized lifts.
The Grand Prix stage in Magnitogorsk marked the fifth event in the 2022-23 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series. The series consists of six events, with the top six skaters or teams in each discipline qualifying for the Grand Prix Final in December.
