Haaland in talks with Manchester City
The Norwegian striker is said to be close to completing a £51.2m move to the Premier League champions
Erling Haaland is reportedly in advanced talks with Manchester City over a £51.2 million move from Borussia Dortmund this summer. The 21-year-old striker is one of the most sought-after players in Europe, and his arrival at the Etihad Stadium would be a major coup for Pep Guardiola's side. Haaland has scored 85 goals in 88 appearances for Dortmund, and he has also impressed for Norway, scoring 15 goals in 17 caps.
The move would see Haaland reunited with his former Borussia Dortmund team-mate Jadon Sancho, who joined United last summer.
Haaland is said to be keen on moving to the Premier League, and he believes that Manchester City is the ideal club for him to continue his development. The Norwegian is a prolific goalscorer, and he would be a valuable addition to Guardiola's squad. Haaland is expected to sign a five-year contract with Manchester City, and he will become one of the highest-paid players in the Premier League.
The transfer would be a major boost for Manchester City, who are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.
The Premier League champions have already signed Julian Alvarez from River Plate, and they are also close to completing a deal for Kalvin Phillips from Leeds United. Haaland would be the icing on the cake for Guardiola, and he would give the Spaniard a world-class striker to lead his attack. The transfer is expected to be completed in the coming weeks, and Haaland could make his debut for Manchester City in the Community Shield against Liverpool on 30 July.
