Mariupol residents complain about tap water quality

Residents of Russian-occupied Mariupol have expressed concerns over tap water quality, with some reporting a yellow or green hue and a strange taste.

Photos and videos posted on Telegram channels by residents show water running from taps in different colors, from bright yellow to murky green.

One resident, who asked not to be named, told Current Time that the water in his home has been yellow for the past two weeks.

"It smells bad and tastes bad," he said. "We're afraid to drink it."

Another resident, a woman named Natalia, said that the water in her home has been green for the past week.

"I'm afraid to give it to my children to drink," she said. "We're boiling it first, but even then, it still has a strange taste."

The Mariupol City Council has not yet commented on the reports of discolored water.

However, the Russian-backed administration of the city has previously claimed that the water supply is safe to drink.

In a statement released in March, the administration said that the water supply had been "completely restored" and that it was "safe for drinking."

The statement also said that the water was being "regularly tested" and that it met all safety standards.

However, residents are skeptical of these claims. They say that the water has been discolored for weeks, and that they are afraid to drink it.

They are calling on the city council to investigate the reports and to take action to ensure that the water supply is safe.
