Russian Figure Skating Championships News: Nikolai Kolesnikov Claims Gold
It was Kolesnikov’s first Russian Junior National Championships singles title.
Mikhail Aлексахин finished in second place, while Mark Lukin placed third. Kolesnikov scored an impressive 263.75 points, well ahead of silver medalist Aлексахин’s 240.24. Lukin earned the bronze medal with a total score of 231.03.
Kolesnikov’s victory marks the first time he has won the Russian Junior National Championships title. The 17-year-old skater has had a successful season, winning gold at the Russian Junior Figure Skating Championships earlier this year.
Aлексахин, 16, is also a rising star in Russian figure skating. He won the silver medal at the 2023 Russian Junior Championships and placed fourth at the 2023 World Junior Championships.
Lukin, 17, is a two-time Russian Junior National Championships medalist. He won the bronze medal in 2022 and 2023.
The competition was held in Magnitogorsk, Russia.
The Russian Junior National Championships took place in Magnitogorsk, Russia, from February 23rd to 26th. The event featured some of the best young figure skaters in Russia competing for a chance to represent their country at the World Junior Championships.
Kolesnikov, Aлексахин, and Lukin will all represent Russia at the 2023 World Junior Championships, which will be held in Calgary, Canada, from March 7th to 12th.
