Six inmates escape Lipetsk IK-2 through an underpass

On Saturday, September 23, six inmates escaped from the Lipetsk maximum-security penal colony IK-2 through an underpass. This was reported by a regional human rights activist and confirmed by a source in law enforcement agencies.
The escape was discovered during a morning roll call. According to preliminary data, the prisoners escaped late at night on Friday, September 22, after overpowering a duty officer and taking his keys. They then made their way through the territory of the colony, cut through the fence and escaped through an underpass under the railway tracks.
The escapees are:
* Alexander Alexandrov, 29 years old, convicted of murder to 9 years in prison.
* Dmitry Kostomarov, 25 years old, convicted of robbery to 7 years in prison.
* Ivan Petrov, 23 years old, convicted of drug trafficking to 6 years in prison.
* Sergey Smirnov, 28 years old, convicted of hooliganism to 5 years in prison.
* Alexey Ivanov, 26 years old, convicted of theft to 4 years in prison.
* Andrey Sidorov, 24 years old, convicted of fraud to 3 years in prison.
A large-scale operation is currently underway to search for the escaped prisoners. Roadblocks have been set up on the roads and police are combing the surrounding area.
The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case on the fact of the escape under Part 2 of Art. 321 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization of escape from a correctional institution). The maximum penalty under this article is 10 years in prison.
