Six prisoners escaped from strict regime colony No. 4 in Lipetsk
On the night of August 22, six male convicts made an escape from the territory of the correctional colony No. 4 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the city of Lipetsk. This was reported on Monday, August 22, by the press service of the regional department of the FSIN.
According to preliminary information, the prisoners managed to get out of the detachment-type premises, climb over the security fence and leave the territory of the correctional colony. The escapees were serving sentences for committing grave and especially grave crimes.
An operational headquarters has been created to search for the convicts, which includes employees of the FSIN, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Investigative Committee, and the National Guard. Checkpoints have been set up at the exits from the city, and employees of the traffic police and the patrol service have been put on an enhanced mode of service.
The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Lipetsk Region opened a criminal case on the fact of the escape of six convicts from a correctional colony in Lipetsk. This was reported on Monday, August 22, by the press service of the regional department of the Investigative Committee.
The criminal case was initiated under Part 2 of Art. 313 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Escape from a place of detention committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy or an organized group").
Investigators will establish all the circumstances and causes of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
