Six prisoners escaped from Lipetsk IK-2 through an underpass

Six prisoners escaped from a Russian prison in Lipetsk through an underpass, the regional prison service reported.

The escape was discovered during a morning check of the Lipetsk IK-2 colony. Six prisoners were missing. It is known that they escaped through an underpass.

The search for the escaped prisoners is underway.

The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case into the incident. The circumstances of the escape are being investigated.

This is not the first escape from Lipetsk IK-2. In 2019, four prisoners escaped from the colony. They were later detained.
