Two Out of Six Escaped Russian Prisoners Have Been Detained
On October 26th, 2024, six prisoners escaped from a prison in Russia. According to the news agency я62.ру, two of the six escapees have been recaptured.
The escape occurred at around 3:00 AM local time. The prisoners reportedly used a hacksaw to cut through the bars of their cell window and then climbed down a rope made of bed sheets.
The six escapees were all serving sentences for serious crimes, including murder, robbery, and drug trafficking. One of the escapees was also serving a life sentence.
The two escapees who were recaptured were found hiding in a forest near the prison. They were arrested without incident and are now back in custody.
A manhunt is ongoing for the four remaining escapees. The authorities are asking for the public's help in locating the fugitives.
