Winter Event 2023 Will Feature a Romantic Side Story, Improvements for New and Veteran Players

Digital Extremes dropped a ton of details in a recent livestream on their upcoming Warframe update codenamed 1999. The update's headline feature is a romantic side story designed to cater to players seeking a break from the game's usual combat-heavy grind. The similarities to Baldur's Gate 3 are unmistakable, with a focus on branching dialogue, pivotal decisions, and "spicy" moments.

What to Expect from Warframe 1999 Date Night

Warframe has been fairly light on story content in recent years, so this update might be a welcome change of pace for many players. Warframe 1999 will kick off with a new winter-themed social hub followed by several instanced story missions, which can be played solo or co-op.

Players will take on the role of their Operator, joining forces with in-game characters Teshin and Solaris United leader Eudico to investigate a mysterious energy surge. Along the way, they'll encounter new characters and make choices that will impact the story's outcome.

Improvements for New and Veteran Players

In addition to the new content, Warframe 1999 will also include a number of quality-of-life improvements for both new and veteran players. These include a revamped tutorial system, a new player experience, and a host of balance changes.

The update will also introduce a new type of mission called "Conjunction Survival." These missions will challenge players to survive against waves of increasingly powerful enemies while completing objectives toearn rewards.

Warframe 1999 is scheduled to release on February 14, 2023, just in time for Valentine's Day. The update will be available on all platforms where Warframe is currently available, including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
