Yegor Beroev as a legend of Soviet football: filming of the sports drama "Golden Double" has started

Production of a new sports drama about the legendary Soviet goalkeeper Lev Yashin has begun in Moscow.

The film is titled "Golden Double". It is produced by the film company "Mars Media Entertainment" with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Football Union of Russia.

The story begins at the 1957 USSR Cup final. After making a series of brilliant saves, goalkeeper Lev Yashin brings victory to his team, Dynamo Moscow. The triumph was doubly significant because the capital's club had not won a major trophy for almost ten years.

After the historic match, Lev Yashin gets an offer that can change his life forever. Real Madrid invites the goalkeeper to join the "royal club". But Yashin rejects the lucrative proposal and remains loyal to his native team.

The role of Lev Yashin in the film was played by the famous Russian actor Yegor Beroev.

The creative team of the film tried to make the image of the legendary goalkeeper as reliable as possible. Beroev studied Yashin's biography, watched a chronicle of his games and talked to people who personally knew the athlete.

In addition to Beroev, the film also stars Viktor Dobronravov, Igor Yatsko, Nikita Volkov, Anna Mikhalkova and other famous actors.

The film "Golden Double" is scheduled to be released in 2023, on the 90th anniversary of Lev Yashin's birth.

According to preliminary estimates, the film's budget is about 10 million dollars.

Most of the film will be shot in Moscow. Several episodes will be filmed in Berlin and Madrid, where Lev Yashin played as part of the USSR national team.
