Zule at risk of missing Bundesliga match

Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule could miss the upcoming Bundesliga match against Borussia Monchengladbach due to a muscle problem, head coach Julian Nagelsmann has confirmed.

Sule was forced to withdraw from the Germany squad during the international break and has not yet returned to full training with Bayern.

Nagelsmann told reporters on Friday that Sule is "a doubt" for the game against Gladbach and that a decision on his availability will be made on Saturday.

"Niklas has a muscle problem," Nagelsmann said. "He's not yet back in full training and we'll have to see how he is tomorrow. He's a doubt for the game."

Sule's absence would be a blow to Bayern, who are already without injured centre-backs Lucas Hernandez and Dayot Upamecano.

If Sule is ruled out, Nagelsmann could start with Benjamin Pavard and Matthijs de Ligt in central defence.
