Six inmates escaped from prison in Lipetsk tonight through an underpass

On the night of March 14, 2022, it became known about the escape of six prisoners from the Lipetsk IK-4. During the appeal, the absence of six convicts was found. Later it became known that the fugitives had dug an underground passage 150 meters long to a residential building on Sovetskaya Street. The fugitives left a note in the cell with the text “We are going home”.

According to the latest data, two prisoners were detained while the rest are still at large. The convicts who dug the underground passage had sentences ranging from 9 to 18 years for robbery, robbery, car theft, murder, and drug trafficking. The escape was organized by prisoners Artyom Karasev, Alexander Cheprakov, Denis Mysiakov, Sergei Sharov, Konstantin Pavlenok, and Dmitry Ageev.
Investigation is currently underway
The prosecutor’s office of the Lipetsk region launched an investigation into the escape from the colony. An investigation team is currently conducting searches in Lipetsk’s residential sector and the region’s forests. Additional police patrols have been added throughout the city for additional security.
